yes, Yes, YES!!!!

The weather has been glorious for the past couple of days, with at least a few more to come.

The snow has melted except for a pile here and there.

I saw what might be a crocus peeking up in someone’s yard.

I actually saw a real live robin this morning on my way to work.

Could this mean that hypothetically, theoretically, possibly, perhaps, maybe, spring might actually have arrived in Montreal?

The mind boggles, and the heart flippity flops and sings with joy.

But terror still lurks. Who knows if it’s not just an evil cosmic joke? It has been several times so far.

  1. choochoo says:

I saw one hopping around my garden two weeks ago. I win! 😛

  2. ticknart says:

    They never leave here.Jealous?

  3. Jocelyn says:

Your glee is infectious. Like you, though, I still wonder if another three inches of snow mightn’t just drop out of the sky yet.You know, you’re the one who broke my happiness bubble some months back by telling me chickadees sing their spring song even in the winter. But I’ll not pop your bubble. Oh, no, I’ll not. Except robins, um, well, they actually are in Montreal all year. And, er, that crocus has been there since last spring. It’s not new.

  4. Jazz says:

Choochoo – How can the Norwegian winter end so quickly? You live north of everywhere.Ticknart – Yes. I hate you Californians. But that’s ok, CA is gonna slip into the ocean anyway. So there.Jocelyn – AAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaarrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhh. *cowers under table*

  5. Big Brother says:

Don’t turn all gleeful about it, you’ll jinx it and the gods of weather will punish you for being presumptuous.

  6. Evil Spock says:

Evil Spock actually sent that robotic robin to tease jazz.

  7. Jackal says:

    Great photo!!Happy SpringTime!

  8. If it’s freezing again tomorrow I’m going to fucking shoot mother nature in her retarded head.

  9. Voyager says:

Jazz, soon enough you will be basking in the warm sunshine. Really. It will happen. Or so I keep telling myself. We have had the coldest, rainiest spring I ever remember in Vancouver. You are not alone!V.

  10. Ian Lidster says:

I love the old ‘turdus migratorius’ and it is always my first spring sign of the avian sort. My second is the arrival of the swallows, from Capistrano or wherever the hell they come from.Happy forthcoming spring.Ian

  11. Hey that evil trick happened to us here in Minnesota a few times this winter/Spring. I think now we are in Spring full swing. We actually had thunder today, how weird.

  12. I think we’re safe here…finally. This winter seemed to last forever.

  13. ticknart says:

Did you get you’re book back?

  14. Jill says:

I’m assuming the robin you saw wasn’t frozen solid? If so, it’s probably left over from last summer….

  15. Jazz says:

BB – so far the gods of weather and holding off.Evil Spock – Just like in Blue Velvet… and why am I not surprised.Jackal – Thanks for the good wishes. Fingers crossed that it’ll hold. And welcome to my blog.Snay – And I’ll carry the gun for you.Voyager – Such an optimist you are. Though this time, I tend to think you might just be right.Ian – Turdus migratorius. I’m loving that.Toni – Thunder? How cool.Happily Anonymous – yep seems like it’s finally over! *happy dance*Jill – Well, it was doing a pretty good approximation of chirping so I think it’s not a leftover.
