What with the scandals in the Catholic church…

…this is just brilliant. I just had to post this, poached from Patrick Lagacé’s blog

Marc Murphy is a brilliant cartoonist, his website is here

  1. Excellent cartoon 🙂 Disgraceful attitude of the Pope and all that follow his example…makes my blood boil !

  2. furiousBall says:

it's all really sad. but like any organization, the people at the top seem to be completely out of touch with reality and any sense of true decency.

  3. Rachel says:

Hah, good cartoon! The whole thing, top to bottom, is just shameful. My respect for religious figures is increasingly confined to the truly asectic members of the cloistered orders. All priesthoods can go to hell.Glad I'm not religious.

  4. Well that sums it up, doesn't it?!Unbelievable.

  5. geewits says:

Excellent cartoon. He's a true master to sum up all of that with just a few words and an image. Wow.

  6. e says:

Very succinct and spot-on…Did you know that I grew up in a predominately catholic country and there seemed to be a great difference in the influence of the church there compared to the US…I don't see how anyone can support the church given these scandals, but people do…

  7. Guillaume says:

Brilliant in its simplicity and eloquence.

  8. Sometimes it astounds me that I miss so much news. I have no idea what we're talking about.

  9. tattytiara says:

There's certainly a point to be made there, yes.

  10. XUP says:

I don't even know why anyone is still surprised at any of this. Do we still have illusions about the infallibility of the papacy?

  11. Jazz says:

Here – it's par for the course isn't it?Furball – indeedRachel – you and me both. it must be hard to see when you really believe in the catholic churchBonnie – yep it sums it up quite wellGeewits – yes, it is a brilliant cartoon.e – I don't get it eitherGuillaume – EffectivementSAW – There are numerous scandals rocking the Catholic church right now regarding pedophile priests who were sheltered by the church thus escaping the law in most cases and simply transferred when they were caughttatty – there certainly isXUP – I would imagine people are not so much surprised as pissed off.

  12. Jocelyn says:

The Pope should not only resign; he should be in jail. All those poor kids over so many years.

  13. Shrinky says:

Kind of sums up the hypocricy, doesn't it?
