Dinner last night

Posted: August 12, 2010 in Uncategorized

Last night we went to dinner at Punjab Palace, my favourite Indian restaurant in Montreal. Granted the whole “palace” thing is remarkably overstated, there is nothing palatial about the place but damn, the food is delicious. The Korma, the Roganjosh, the Masala, the Naan….  it’s 8:20 and my mouth is watering. Butter chicken for breakfast?

And for the record, I cannot tell a lie (ha!!!), this picture is a cheat. I forgot the camera so it was taken with my friend Paul’s iPhone. And as I have no freaking idea how to work an iPhone, he took the picture. But it’s the thought that counts, right?

I wish I had that stuff in front of me right now. It looks utterly magnificent.

Paula – Don’t you wish you had been there.

    Paul – So good indeed.

Sully – oh, it was. Utterly and totally magnificent. I want more please!

I do love me some Indian nosh. Looks quite wonderful and I am, my dear, enjoying your pics.

I haven’t had Indian food in yonks. It’s always such a hit or miss proposition — either really, really good or really, really bad. I don’t think there’s any in-between Indian food.

One of my bank branches used to be next to an Indian restaurant and the smell made me feel queasy when I was there. But today my daughter made me taste her take-out chicken curry pasta sald and it was pretty tasty.

  8. Jocelyn says:

Wait, YOU have a friend named Paul? I have a friend named Paul!

    Must be the same guy.

Okay, so I want to be eating with you every night. NUM.

Also, don’t read my current post because I totally give this group of French youngsters here at the pension hell, and now everyone’s all mad at me in the comments because it’s NOT just the French youth who are obnoxious. Yea, duh. But in the case I’m writing about, it was. Anyhow, skip the post, lest you have to hate me forever, and then how can we go out for Indian food together one day?

  9. Jazz says:

XUP – well, I’m not sure if it’s really really good but I really really love it.

Geewits – Indian is not for everyone.

Joce – I have a friend named Paul and another friend named Paul and a friend named Paula. Paula and one of the Pauls are together. One of them must be yours. And as far as I’m concerned youngsters are are all obnoxious, French or not. Come eat Indian with me.

OMG, how can you be so cruel? Now I need me an Indian. We only have one decent Indian restaurant on this Isle, and it’s at the opposite end to where I live. I’m too lazy to go there. Now I’m gonna’ sit pining for it, and beating myself up for being a sloth. I hope you’re happy..

  11. lime says:

mmmmm. my mouth is watering too now!

Montreal sure has great Indian restaurants. Here in England we have many more, maybe the best ones outside India, but also a good deal of tourist traps.
